How do you complete MPO cable quality?At S-MODUL, the answer is Interferometer Inspection.MPO cable manufacturing at S-MODUL is carried out through a fully in-house process—from design and specification review to precision polishing, assembly, and basic optical performance testing (IL/RL).Among these steps, polishing is a key process. It defines fiber height, coplanarity, and ferrule geometry—critical factors for proper multi-fiber contact.However, these features cannot be verified by sight alone.That’s why we use Interferometer Inspection.Using non-contact, high-precision 3D measurement based on optical interference, interferometer inspection analyzes the MPO ferrule end-face and verifies: • Fiber height • Coplanarity • Core dip • Ferrule curvature & tiltThis ensures uniform and simultaneous fiber contact, which is essential for stable performance in 400G, 800G, and PAM4-based networks.If polishing is the starting point of high-quality MPO manufacturing, Interferometer inspection is its completion.At S-MODUL, only MPO cables that passdesign → polishing → interferometer inspectionunder strict in-house standards are approved for shipment.
